stealth game (mark lewis stay out)

we are geting ready to start a campaing at 8th level (where I get to paly - yeah!) stealth is critical and we have all taken elven cloaks and boots with as many ranks in hide and move silently.
we also made sure that we all have darkvision.

Does anybody have any ideas how we can further raise our overall stealth?

remember you can stack your bonuses

namely: circumstance (cheap), competence (also cheap), and luck (quite pricey!)

The halfling rogue in my group has adders into the absurd for Move Silent & Hide ("I can break 60 if I roll a 20!").

Check out the Robe of Blending, Ring of Chameleon Power, Silent Moves and Shadow armor enchantments and compare/contrast them with the Boots and Cloaks you already own.

Our little light-fingers is also a potion hound. He drinks Invisibility poitions like water when he's out scouting new areas for us.

For distractions he has a couple "fire and forget" Summon Monster items. He figures he stands a better chance at getting away if there's suddenly a more obvious target made available.

That said, he now wants 10% of your gross. Don't mess with the little people!

There are more than a few people named Mark on this board (and only one with that as a screen name ;) ). You may wish to adjust the thread title to something a bit more specific. It's easy to do by editing the first post. :)

To help with stealth, Fly if you can. And, of course, Silent spell scrolls or perhaps a wand can be fashioned.
 

You may encounter guards that you can't just kill along the way, so be able to use Sleep, Hold Person, the various Image spells, the various Mist spells, and Charms or Suggestion to get rid of baddies. For maximum stealth, you should get silent or stilled version of these. Some other useful items to use on enemies are Arrows of Sleep or stones with Darkness and Silence cast on them. Also see if you can't get DM approval for a spell that puts out small fires, like torches.

For tactical mobility you may want Fly, Spider Climb, swimming, disguise, bluff, climbing, ropes and grappling hooks. Sometimes you may need to bluff your way past certain situations. Also be certain to check for traps and ambushes, so high Search, Spot and Listen skills are a must. See if you can also have a detect magic one to help spot magical traps and Alarms.

Good sneaking, and remember to hide the bodies!
