That's why larger monsters like giants usually have higher movement rates.
The 5 foot "step" isn't. It's simply an adjustment in position. Smaller creatures need many steps to move 5 feet, but they can get moving very quickly. True huge creatures get get their bulk in gear fast enough for a large free move, but can effectively shift 5 feet the way a human shifts his fighting stance.
