Amy Linker and Jessica were really the leads. Gertz's Muffy Tepperman was a good character, as was Merritt Butrick as "Johnny Slash" (who also played Dr. Marcus in Star Trek II and III). Heck I eventually grew a braided tail because of Johnny Slash. 
I really related to that show, to the whole idea of being a square peg. The show premiered the fall after I graduated from high school, so I was still close enough to connect with its sensibilities Great stuff, then. I've caught a few episodes on late-night cable and... well, it doesn't quite hold up, but still.
