If I remember correctly there was a D&D basic Solo Adventure which featured a labyrinth with lots of Minotaurs.
You are correct. I think it was MSOLO2 Maze of the Riddling Minotaur by Jeff Grubb. Never owned that one- nice catch :)

this is a hella cool thread - wish i had something to add to it! nice to see you really doing your research. :)

If it didn't work

Tavis,
I looked everywhere for I.D.D. , because it said they were releasing several other modules....No info on web for them or Laurence D. Swanson. I will be taking it to the copy shop on Monday or Tuesday.

My email, to send your address to is: Patman21967@cs.com

I have lots of obscure stuff....I'll go through the boxes and see what I can find

Guys I game and LARP with had a game design company that was called Wilmark Dynasty. They were here in Delaware, and created a published game and system calles Melanda: Land of Mystery...I may have that, or some general modules they made up for universal use....I'll look...

Two more articles courtesy of the Dragon Magazine index:
http://www.hanshortes.com/dmindex/topic/monsterschron.html

“The Ecology of the Remorhaz” (Dragon Magazine issue 114, p. 36)
“The Ecology of the Minotaur” (Dragon Magazine issue 116, p. 32)

Anyone know if these are by Greenwood?

"The Ecology of the Remorhaz" in Dragon issue 114 is by Ed Greenwood and Kurt Martin
"The Ecology of the Minotaur" in Dragon issue 116 is by Anthony Gerard
There was a second "Ecology of the Stirge" Article in Dragon issue 239 by Tim Richardson. :)

While I was digging around I found out that the Remorhaz "Creature Feature" is from page 22 of Dragon Issue #2 and not 5. Awesome Erol Otis Pic!

The Remorhaz pic submitted by frankthedm is by Dave Trampier and is on page 6, encounter area 28 of the Upper area in Module G2 The Glacial Rift of The Frost Giant Jarl................... :D Guess I would rather do anything than study for an accounting exam...........got any other obscure creatures you want appearances for?

Yeah, that super-early Otis makes it seem like he'd been looking at a lot of William Morris's mystical/mythological stuff.

The ankheg is in #5 -- that one looks more like '60s San Francisco poster art, or Edvard Munsch's "The Kiss"!

What monsters do y'all reckon should be next? Behemoth3's vote is otyughs, mummies, and troglodytes--but I suspect we're far from finished with these three. Here's a quick one until I get out from under some RL monsters & can update the directory:

STIRGE: Illustration
AD&D DMG p. 177 (TSR, 1979)
- A flock of stirges; this uncredited illo inspired Sang Lee's stirge swarm
