Stkfas - cool toys

I recently discovered Stikfas figures even though they've been out for a couple of years.

They're 3.5" action figures you assemble yourself. They're available in different themes and have lots of accessories. Last Saturday, I bought the black dragon and female warrior set. It looks great IRL but was a bitch to assemble.

You can get them on Ebay among other places.

Does anyone else on the boards have any Stikfas?

I've got a ton of these - they're very cool. In fact, an alpha male is posed atop my monitor right now. The related but short-lived Xevoz line was also very shiny.

Do you (or anyone else) have any tips for assembling them? I found some of the joints very difficult even though I'm pretty good at this sort of thing generally.

Can you mix and match the parts?
AFAIK, mostly yes. For example, you can attach the arms from one figure to the torso of another. There are some things that aren't possible. For example, you can't attach the dragon's wings to a human back, and you can't attach human and equine torsoes to make a centaur.

OK, now I'm interested in these.
I'm working on an action comic and could really use a set of these things as "posers" or manequins.
I have another question for those that own one or more them: are the joints stiff and capable of holding the figure in position, or do they get loose quickly? A lot of manequins that you can buy in the store are pretty limber and don't hold their shape very well.

I always shave off any excess material with a hobby knife, and then make sure I apply pressure only in line with the peg so it doesn't bend/break. Try pushing it in at different angles, depending on the shape of the slot/hole.

(We are still talking about Stikfas, right?)

Pretty much anything is possible if you can find the right connectors.
