Stone Shape Query

Can Stone Shape be used to create multiple objects if the are all identical? For example, creating a number of stone spheres for use as sling stones or if larger for catapults. It says that the object can not be of fine quality. A sphere doesn't have to be perfect to work perfectly as a missile. Any thoughts?

I believe that only one "stone" can be shaped. But I think you can reasonably argue that the spell allows you to shape that one stone into smaller stones. The spell states that you can make objects with moveable parts. Moveable parts requires a break in the stone surface. So there's your rationale. Also, if you use this spell much, devote some ranks to sculpting. It's so choice.

No. One shape only.

The character can form an existing piece of stone into any shape that suits the character's purpose...

...There is a 30% chance that any shape including moving parts simply doesn’t work.

...an existing piece... (not pieces)

,,,into any shape... (not shapes)

...30% chance that any shape... (not shapes)

Sorry.

If all the character wants is to split a big rock into little rocks, I'd allow it.

For a real stickler of a DM, you could make one shape out of multiple spheres. (One example: shape it like a snowman, but with all the spheres the same size.) Make sure each sphere only touches its neighbors at a very narrow point. Then just snap them apart with your hands.

Good idea AuraSeer. I'm actually thinking of this for some Goblins my PC's will encounter. The Goblins are going to be very organized. They use this spell to prepare sling stones by the bushel. Thses Goblins are complete UnderDark dwellers. Using only stone tools. Very Neolithic in tech level. Making sling stones quickly and fairly uniformly is a must.
