Storing D&D Dungeon Tiles?

I'll have to see what sort of binder things i can dig up. One of the big things i want to be able to do is keep the things organized so i know where pieces are. Like, "here's my big floor sections, here's my rubble, and here's my selection of doors."

Of course, the problem with that is that your rubble pieces ARE your floor sections... and so are your doors.

Not that I'm complaining... Ideally, they should have made every piece be plain hallways on one side and then some kind of dungeon dressing on the other. The ones which are just black on the reverse are kind of annoying.

If you're open to a little bit of work...

Take some of the aforementioned sheet protectors, and section off parts of it...

Maybe just with glue? Or sew them shut... Or double sided tape... Shrug.

then just slit new opening flaps in the plastic. Custom sheet protector sizes... (does that make any kind of sense?)

I tried this but I wasn't happy with the outcome, I might give it another shot armed with more patience.

I have the WotC 3.5 Basic boxed set to help teach new folks the game. The box, minus minis, is mostly empty, and I store almost all my D&D tiles in there. It's full now, however.

The corridors I keep seprate, in an old unused laptop carrying case.

When I got two packs of the recent outdoor tiles, they were put in yet another unused laptop carrying case. :uhoh:

I am now out of space. My daughter keeps hers in protect-a-page clear plastic things in a 3-ring binder. It's just if she tilts it slightly, there's a mess on the floor.

I work at a Barnes & Noble Cafe part-time and I snag all of the boscotti boxes (20 x 12 x 3 - with fold over lids that have flaps that tuck in) for my minis and have used one to store my Dungeon Tiles in too.

I'm a Container Store junkie, so I put them in freezer baggies (based on size), then put them in Container Store boxes. The Men's Shoe Box is the best size for the tiles - they hold the big tiles flat, plus all the various baggies of the smaller tiles.

I think it would be great if someone would craft a carrying case for these things and produce it commercially. I'd be willing to pay 30 to 40 bucks if it was nice and spacious enough.

I'd pay 30 bucks for something that stored minis and tiles ... otherwise, I think I'd just find some tupperware that fit the tiles ;)
