Storing D&D Dungeon Tiles?

Personally, I've been using the extra-large Ziploc freezer and larger storage bags. Allows you to see which tiles are inside, but keeps them from flopping all over.

Exactly why I use one as well. I have to lay them flat and stir them a bit on my tact-tiles for them to lay down a bit, but that is better than bothering to sort them into specific pouches. Sadly, I have only used them once out of 3 sessions I've DMed; they just aren't as large and diverse as I had hoped.

That's been my method, as well.

What sets do you have? I find that if you get 2 of each set it gives you more options. Also as more sets come out, they make all of the existing sets more useful.

O.O

How the hell did I miss that? Mark, that mapper thing is genius! Ever so much easier than playing around with the tiles. Thank ye!

Everyone else--great suggestions, I'll have to head out tomorrow and see if I can pick anything up.

I started keeping them in my Basic D&D set box (the 3E basic version) with my Paizo map tiles. When it got full I moved the Dungeon Tiles to my Player's Kit box ($10 with S&H for a paperback PHB, best deal I've had in a while).

Hi,

I have been using what Scribble suggests, I use sheet protectors for the largest tiles, and the slide sheets for anything that has a 2-squares side or 1-square side.

The only thing I don't know yet how to store nicely are the 4x4 tiles.

I'll try to post some pictures when I get home.

What are slide sheets?

I have some compartment boxes (I used for DDM figures back when I didn't have the vitrines yet) that are almost perfect for Dungeon Tiles.

All but the biggest tiles fit in.

About a third of the box is one big compartment that gets all the very long tiles, there's a big compartment that is perfect for the 4x4 tiles, several for the 2x4 tiles, and the smaller ones (2x2, 2x1, 1x1) have ideal compartments as well.

My local supermarket was doing a post-Christmas deal on big tins of Celebrations.

I bought a couple of tins, ate the chocolates and now I use the tins to store my tiles. Unfortunatley, the big ones don't fit, so I store them in a cardboard file.
