Herder of monkies

I have to respectfully disagree. It aint dead until no one remembers it

Coming from a fringe author, if you restrict yourself to only reading a certain type of story hour (D&D, Dragonlance, Supers, Blindfolded Monkies on Crank, etc) or to reading only the ones near the top of the page, then you will miss out on a LOT of real gems. Quite frankly, just because it's popular doesnt necessarily mean it's the best (John Grisham has taught us that, eh?) though admittedly most of the fairly popular ones on ENWorld are quite good. Some of the best Stories I've read have been ones that were very, very popular, but then also ones that very, very few people ever discovered. If you do trip across an obscure, neglected story, and you really like it, by all means pimp that guy when you have a chance.
So take the advice of folks who have cruised the story hour boards and remember some of the "dead" ones; every now and then, look up one of those old, crusty, dust-covered story hours. You never know what you might get. Myself, I havent had time to really get into any SH's in months, so my advice is on some stories that have a bit of age on them just because I dont get to read many anymore. So I come to these threads to see what stories all the cool kids are talking about, then go read them

So look out Orcs On The Rampage, I'll be seeing you soon.
