Here I go:

City-Country-Strangers-Rumors

How about writing something with it?

Like this:

Dust. The dust heaved up from the road. Again. He coughed. Choked. Spluttered. The bend curved away, then straightened, as his tired feet dropped in front of him one by one. Around it, past the deep green swoop of the trees, stood a house. Not a brick house. Not a lathe-and-timber house. Not a house brimming with magic or festooned with witchery.

No, it was a wooden house. Pigs scratched in the yard, shouldering aside the chickens while the solitary, scruffy goat eyed its tether. It saw the man. It thought chewing the grass in weeds clothing the better choice.

Huff. Huff. Huff.

He hoped they would answer the door.

There it was. Painted blue, the welcome color. A gasp escaped his lips when he stumbled, caught himself by the creaky wooden gate, then choked violently on the dust-and-phlegm.

Creak.

The door opened. She was wearing a white kirtle, dirty now with a smear of breakfast.

"Who?"

He gaped. A girl? This long after? Tumbling, scrambling, fumbling his mind raced. A rumor? A rumor. Yes. Keep the secret safe.

"There's to be a fair in year's time. At the Blue Lodge. A ten-day walk south. If you please miss. Good day to you."
