First. It's the same size as any other comic out there, and yet it costs 50 cents more than Marvels' newest ongoings. I thought the first issue had a lot of quality, so I'm going to send a message. I'm buying the Trade when it comes out, and ignoring the overpriced miniseries.
The way I understand it, though, the execs decide whether or not to continue a series, or start up a series after a miniseries, based on the sales of the actual books, not the trades. So by doing so, you save yourself some money per book, but kill the book itself. :(

You're right. Of course, thor: Son of Asgard had horrible sales, below that of what cancelled series get, and was extended.

My problem is...is Marvel is selling all their new titles for $2.99. That's bad enough, but to do a miniseries with the same page count and same amount of ads and add another 51 cents to it? I can't continue to support the upcreep, especially when they still have titles for sale at $2.25 with the same page count (their older ones)

But, we don't really know why it has a higher cover price, they may be fully justified in pricing it how they did.

Maybe the folks at Just A Buck Comics have the cure for what ails ye?

I'll pay 2.25-2.99 for my favorite comics, but beyond that it has to be something special, like painted art, more pages, no ads, etc. I'm just not going to start going the route of paying 3.50 for 22 pages of standard comic art and writing.
