Strahd MM3 update?

Open Grave Strahd is level 20, old math. Before I redo all his math for MM3 conversion, I wanted to see if it already existed and I just can't find him? I'm hoping to get him around level 13 and am new to releveling. The version in DDI has limited powers and no alternate forms. Of course, if anyone just loves monster conversion, I wouldn't turn down the help. Thanks!

Strahd has not received an official update. If you have the offline Monster Builder, updating monsters to MM3 rules is very easy.

I wrote up (but haven't yet played) a level 13 version based in part on the one in Open Grave but with powers like Fireball, Invisibility, etc., that are more in line with the original version from I6 Ravenloft. I just used the recommended attack and damage numbers from the DMG updates.

It's worth considering, though, that solo design has changed a lot since then, and I will probably revise my version of Strahd to add some more triggered actions and so forth to bring him more in line with the solos that you see in Monster Vault.

cool - would you be willing to post him here or send him via email? I was working up a version based on the Perkin's article and the same powers in Open Grave.

Hi there,

if you'll pardon the shameless plug, I'm nearly about to release three pdfs about Vampires (initially intended to be one book). Each is roughly 50 pages long and has 30+ stat blocks.

The first revolves around Cannibals + Vampires (Primitive/African types).
The second focuses on Cultists (of Kali) + Vampires (primarily Indian).
The third is basically about Vampire Familiars + Vampires (classic Vampires).

The relevant point is that the third book also includes Dracula (three different versions/stat-blocks*)

*Young (Warrior) Dracula (Vampire Lord)
*Classic Noble Dracula (Elder Vampire)
*'Monstrous' Vargulf form

The Classic Noble Dracula is Level 14.

What I didn't like about the Open Grave Strahd was that the level was far too divorced from the classic Vampire stat-block, meaning you couldn't use one in tandem with the other.
