When going on YOUR VACATION, make sure it stays that way. Don't let other people tag along (THIS INCLUDES FAMILY) who have conflicting interests with YOUR VACATION...especially when the tag alongs want to race home and YOUR VACATION plans on seeing the sights.

Then just go alone, dude. That way it stays YOUR VACATION. Unless you're taking buddies who are also interested in seeing it. And that's stretching it a bit.
