The +1 Pole trying to hold the Death Star trash compactor open would either be shoved aside, or a poke a Pole-sized hole in one side of the compactor. Unless this activity destroys the compactor, the people inside are squashed in either case.

I doubt a normal weapon would break from a simple fall, unless it was something extreme like 200 feet. I'd say anything below 40' would be subdual damage to an item that size, and objects are immune to subdual damage. Certainly a magical weapon wouldn't. If that DM really wanted to destroy magical weapons, he really should have bum-rushed you with 100 Rust Monsters like any respectable DM would!

Hey, I would like to thinkt that I could eventually become an evil bastard DM one of these days. I am really working on it. I got the BoVD. It is a step in the right direction, no?

Hm... the BovD is only for in-game cruelty against characters. A good start, but it won't help you become an expert. You need meta-game cruelty against players to become a real bastard DM. But the BovD won't hurt, and if you keep practicing (maybe you can pay a dominatrix to play D&D with you, as the DM: "You don't deserve that magic wand and you never will!") you will become one of us. Keep up that good work!

It can only poke a hole in the compactor if it can beat the hardness of the walls. Given that iron has a hardness of 10, and a +1 quarterstaff does 1d8+1 damage, that's never.

For being shoved aside, you just need to find a groove or indentation to wedge it into. The walls weren't sheer faces, after all, they were covered in little ridges and channels...
