"The average gamer is 35, overweight, and more likely to be depressed, says a new study conducted by researchers at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention."

Interesting story about gaming and depression. It's specifically about video games, not RPG's, but I thought it might start an interesting conversation.

Ironically, the study was performed in the Seattle-Tacoma area (Home of both WotC and Paizo). Hmmmmmm.:hmm:;)

Check, check, uncheck.

Two out of three ain't a bad batting average!

When diaglo's bosses find out he lied about his age (and his weight), he's done. :D

If anything, gaming (both pen and paper and videogame variety) has been the only thing keeping me from being depressed 24/7 and unable to sleep at night. Instead, I'm only depressed when not gaming or thinking about gaming. :(

I find the note about Bejeweled to be quite interesting. It does not seem implausible to me that playing the game might well have some of the same beneficial effects as more conventional meditation.
