I am having issue waiting for the paperback to come out in November. I've been browsing the used shops trying to find a copy but with no luck.

Eastwood is Roland no question about it. Viggo would be OK in the role though.

The only way to do a film of the Dark Tower series would be as a very large "mini" series. Make sure it's on HBO or Showtime that way nothing is lost in the translation!

This will sound odd, but Jim Carey is an excellent mimic and maybe could fake a young Clint Eastwood.

The time to film that movie with its ideal cast was in the late 70's and early 80's when Eastwood was younger and Johnny Cash was still alive.

Who does Johnny play? Walter? Or do the studio execs take the first sentence of the novels "The Man in Black fled across the desert and the gunslinger followed" a bit too literally?

Well the man in black that the Gunslinger was chasing was inspired by Cash. As I recall the man inblack in the gunslinger is more a trickster. Somthing of an older fellow.
