Okay, my Dwarf has an Intelligence of 5 [Not my choice, we rolled in order and the 5 landed on Int]. If it matters, my Wis is 16 and my Cha 15.

This is a roleplayer's dream. My take on this dwarf is someone who has a very likeable and pleasant personality, has a lot of common sense, and views life with the innocence of a child. He may be able to handle fighting monsters just fine, but have problems when others use his innocence as a tool for their gain. He is firm in his beliefs and will give a friend the clothes off his back and remain loyal to them. He knows others are smarter than he is, but also knows that brains aren't everything. He probably has a wry sense of humor that revolves around his high Wisdom (maybe he has a lot of street smarts).

This is one of those rare characters that have a huge potential for becoming memorable in the hands of a good player and a good DM. Go for it and have a blast. :)

Forrest Gump comes to mind. :)

He WAS a war hero.... :p
Remember that 10 of the 216 possible 3d6 rolls will have a result equal to or less than 5. Is one out of every twenty people you know as stupid as Forrest Gump?

Yes, but remember, rolling stats is usually just for Heroes. Just about every commoner has an 11 intelligence, wisdom, and charisma.

Given his success was he really stupid, or just simple?

Just seems like ole Forrest would have had similar mental stats. Not too bright, but very likable and armed with plenty of common sense. Rather stubborn as well... :)

Not necessarily. core rules suggest an nonelite array (8,9,10,11,12,13), but that's just a simplification of a 3d6 roll, just as the elite array(8,10,12,13,14,15) is a simplification of a 4d6-drop-one roll.

For Reference:

(If you don't want to go the ole' 'Me Dwarf, me kill things' barbarian/fighter route).

Check out Pikel Boudershoulder from Salavatore's Cleric Quintet (or the latest Drizz't Novels).

You got a dwarven Druid with the brains of Paris Hilton.

High Charisma, Dumb as a post.

Real Life Role models:

Paris Hilton: (A dwarven paris hilton is just frightening, esp is you make that programmed image scene).

Jessica Simpson: (Dwarven Bard, it might work).

Backstreet boy (choose 1): Keep calling the other party members Justin & try to choreograph your parties attack moves so 'we're all in step'.

Jerry Springer audience member: (Attack everything. Sleep with everything. Have no idea who your daddy is. Ummm, that sounds like your average adventurer).

Roscoe P. Coltrane: (if you want to play a Paladin that is).

Bull from Nightcourt: (big, bald, buff; yet sensitive).

Actually, many people on TV used Int as their 'dump stat' You need a high Cha, but Int is optional. Even harmful in some cases.
