stupid magic missle question

Well. My personal view is that MM can't detect force. Therefore they will blindly crash into any force barrier.

walls of force are clear aren't they? i assumed the wizard would have line of sight through the wall of force but I'm not sure if the magic missile would actually change course to go through the opening to the opponent or just slam into the wall. Thanks for the ideas though.

Yes you can see through a wall of force.

I am not an expert when it comes to spells but I am pretty sure there is a difference between "line of sight" and "line of effect".

The problem here is not line of sight. It is line of effect (A straight, unblocked path). According to the rules the MM would crash into the wall.
