i autoban any player who comes to the table with a PC name consisting of "Drizzt" or "Do'Urden"


banned...instaban...uberban clawhammer style!!!

I don't automatically ban those tpyes of names, I do however have those personalities actualy SHOW UP from time to tome whwn someone is abusing their name. after all when people are talking about you behind your back it eventually does get back to you.

Ah, Burne. I remember it was one of the default name in the D&D Character Generator found on the CD-ROM that accompanied the first printing of the PH.

Actually, Burne wa also the name of the NPC Magic-user who lived in Hommelet in T1 The Village of Hommelet - though you might know it better as T1-4 The Temple of Elemental Evil.

Which reminds me, after assaulting the lower depths of the moat house for the third time, my group finally made it to the leader of ultimate evil in the area and bantered with him before running away. The master villain called himself "The New Master". My group could not believe that it wasn't just a cheesy name I made up on the spot until one of them saw it printed in the module.

If the player wants a bad name then he can have it. HOWEVER...he will need to deal with the consequences of having such a name. I have created bar fights as the local bully (mysteriously about three levels ahead of the PCs) whom targets people with such names. Forget the local costanables and nobles.
Unfortunate names to be dealt with....
Bam Bam and Pebbles two 1/2 Giants
Dar, Dar II, Dar III etc I guess he likes the name
Musclehead 1/2 Giant with 4 intelligence
