Successful Story Hours - a simple analysis (raised from the thread)

#24 with a bullet! On MTV, my Story Hour would be one of the ones they show coming out of a commercial, and play only about 5 seconds of the video. (Probably Renraw stealing from the rest of the group ... again.)

Here's another interesting little tidbit about the results. In the original post, the top 10 authors were receiving an average of 39 views per post (excluding P-Kitty's monstrous score), now the top 10 are receiving almost 70 views per post. To me, this says that people are reading story hours a lot more, and I think that is cool as hell.

Wow, neat!

Curiously, although my story hour may seem to be growing the fastest, it's rarely mentioned on ENWorld. I suspect the majority of readers are from off-site. I make it a point of advertising the story hour to Arcanis players, Freeport players, and Cthulhu players, when appropriate.

I don't know that you can accurately score these Story Hours. I, and I suspect many if not most of you, have only so much time to devote to reading these SHs.

So far I've read Sep II (Tales of Wyre, Viridity and Saizhan), Force_User (Cask of Winter?), Shemeska (Planescape 1), Blackdirge (um, the paired SHs with the Quasit's ordeal at the hands of the Evil Mage... and then the Evil Mage becoming a Demon Lord), and Lazybones (Doomed Bastards)... So I am only qualified to judge a handful of SH Authors on thier writings.

I've yet to dive into a Piratecat or Der_Kluge tale... just for want of time.

Sure, how "good" a story hour might be is entirely subjective; however, this formula does show which story hours are being read on a regular basis. As i said eariler, what we can see is that story hours in general are being read more, and that should be encouraging to any story hour author.

But the real reason I wanted to resurrect this thread was to show how much things have changed since the original post, and to highlight some story hours people may not have read.

I may be at the bottom, but at least I'm on the first page! (Though I don't know how 607 views/29 posts = 0.05 ... methinks there's a typo there.) I tend to update in small chunks, so I have a relatively large post count per update, and little to no following. Guess I'd better put a link in my sig ...

The good news is ... there are so few posts, it's easy to get in on this story! Pimp, pimp.

Damn, you're right. Sorry about that. I've updated the list with your new number (20.93).
