Suggest Some Anti-RttTOEE Adventures

You want anti-RttToEE type adventuring?

1) Adapt some Paranoia adventures to D&D form, subbing a minor deity for the Computer.

2) Powerful Necromancer shows up with his undead army..."Everything must die...AGAIN!"

Please run Red Hand of Doom and then post about it so I can enjoy the experience vicariously.

I just re-read RHoD last night and it could be just what you want. No large dungeons, good plot, and a fair amount of wilderness and outdoor encounters. The only thing is that there is some time pressure... and my players have absolutely forbidden me from running a time-pressure campaign for at least a year.

I would also recommend any of Paizo's adventure paths.

I just want to say congratulations for actually making it all the way through. I'm sure a lot of groups have tried and failed before you.

RttTOEE burned me out on 3e and megamodules all together. I have developed an irrational dislike of Mr. Cook becuase of it. I just now, a couple years later, have thought about running a 3.x game again.

I second the recommendations for the original WotC "adventure path" modules for 3.0, the Atlas Games adventures "In the Belly of the Beast" and "Thieves in the Forest" and "Dungeon". I also would like to recommend Necromancer Games' "Crucible of Freya" and Troll Lord Games' "The Mortality of Green". THere are others, but I am not its too late to go through my books right now and I haven't gamed since June... haven't run a game since March. I AM thinking about getting back into it now though.

City of the Spider Queen was just as bad, if not worse. Between the two of them I thought I would never run a long WotC module again... and then Red Hand of Doom showed up and I'm itching to run it. Ditto for Ravenloft.

I'm not sure about everyone else, but I would strongly recommend Red Hand of Doom. I am running it and it is refreshing to see an excellent adventure with so few dungeons, and so little time spent in any one location.

Or if you don't want the time pressure, I would recommend a few semi-(or not) conncted modules from dungeon to get the creative juices flowing again.

I didn't see much worth in it either, but just look at the positive reviews it got on this site.

I was surprised to see some of RttToEE's headscratchers repeated in Age of Worms in the form of weak or obscure plot hooks. I mean, they're easy to fix with some reworking, but it's weird that it wasn't got right in the first place.

If you want completely different, I'd suggest go for Eberron and the beginning adventures (vampires blade, etc) there. Totally different feel to yer monster bash, especially if you play up the political wrangling.
