Suggestions for a forum

Shadowcavern

First Post
Hey there, I have just opened a forum at http://www.shadowcavern.net/forum and im asking for your help and support.
You people are the kind of audience that I am trying to attract to the site (D20 gamers) so id like to know what you think of the forums and make any suggestions etc. about what i could do to improve them.

P.S. I only put the forums up yesterday (29th May) and id be very glad of any input.

All the best,
Ben

Your best bet is to start with a single forum and then to separate it into additional forums as and when required.

That is how this one started, after all!

If you *don't* do this, you will probably find it difficult to develop the critical mass of visitors which will make it useful.

Regards,

Yeah, ive been involved in a number of comunity forums and seen many crumble from having to many forums and not enough memebrs. I wont fall into that trap. All the forums I have at the moment are used (obsiously not since my database crashed) but I make sure that inactive forums that 'dont work' are removed. Thank you :)

Like WotC. Geeze. Over 30 active forums in their D&D area alone. And the admins complain that they keep having to move threads.

Sadly yes there are some terribly run, spam filled forums out there with about 12 users, 10 administrators and 56 forums :D There just waiting for them to get popular... ;)
