Suggestions wanted: Lvl 15+ _non-dungeon_ scenario?

I don't have much Planescape experience (besides the computer game), but that is certainly one option. Do you have any specific suggestions?

Shadow Plane is a favorite of mine. Tome of Magic covers shadow magic and can present a new and interesting situation for your players.

Here's what my adventure spreadsheet says for levels 15+

Note #1: Anything from Dungeon #81 and earlier is 2e. The 2e adventures level listings are what they would reasonably be for 3e after I converted them.)

Many thanks for the effort, it will take a while to go through that list! I think the Illithid Trilogy is also heavy on dungeon crawls, but some of the others are certainly broader in scope :)

Against the Giants: The Liberation of Geoff (15th)

While there is some loose connecting structure, the heart of this is the original 'Against the Giants' modules, which are definatively dungeons.

H1 The Bonegarden (16th) (Necro Games)

A mega dungeon similar in many ways to 'World's Largest Dungeon'.

Lich-Queen's Beloved, The (18th) - Dungeon #100

Straight up dungeon crawl.

Really? I thought just a small part was the Against the Giants (2e conversion), with most of it the saving of many towns and regions from giants (ie. anything but a dungeon-crawl).

Ah. I couldn't remember how much took place under the Bonegarden, and how much was running across the surface of it.

*three*

Arn,

There's quite a bit under the Bonegarden that's pretty dungeon crawlly.

I still say a slightly modified version of "For Deity and Duty" might be something to consider.

The majority of the work is devoted to the big 4 giant lairs. The other stuff is interesting especially for its take on demi-human culture, and I'm sure a good tale could be spun from it, but it certainly reads like the intention is ultimately to recreate the G series.

Quite alot of it takes place on the 'surface', but do to the nature of the Bonegarden, the 'surface' is a surface area only by flavor. In play, it's basically a large dungeon loosely painted to not look like one.

Look at it this way. 'A city based adventure' is not something we normally think of as a dungeon crawl. That's because normally, when you play 'a city based adventure' the story is event or character driven, and the balance of play shifts away from combat and toward investigation, problem solving, role play, politics and whatever. But suppose we take a city map and fill the buildings with monsters and treasure, hide snipers and spell-users on the roofs, put traps in the allies, and so forth. Ostencibly we have a 'a city based adventure', but really what we have is a dungeon wearing non-sterotypical clothes. I respect that, but its still basically dungeon crawling.

What would you suggest changing? I got the download from WotC, but haven't looked at it in detail yet.

*two*

Gnorr,

Well for starters, it's 2nd edition. :) So there's bound to be some things you'll need to change. I can't recall about the monsters or NPCs you'll encounter, but I'm sure you might have to look at FC I and probably the map gallery for Expedition to the Demonweb Pits for looks at the various cities in Graz'zt's plane.

The Diplomacy module from Dungeon 144 features no dungeon crawling at all. And! it has MODRONS! (well, A modron).

/edit

/threadjack - Nightfall, what the heck is up with the counting bit?
