Rhaavin

The summer in Rhaavin is the hottest in the past ten years. This brings something of a lull in most activities and even occurances of piracy are significantly less though ship captains are bringing full discipline down upon any who sacrifice security in order to beat the heat. Otherwise few occurances of any note occur off shore.

On the island itself rangers, military, and even some hired adventurers are kept on their toes as some of the tribes of humanoids within the forests get restless and begin fighting among themselves. While nothing has spilled over into the border villages many preffer to keep with the rangers motto: 'Always be prepared.'

KINRISAR

The summer season brings calm to the kingdom. Lazy warm days return to the land and the hearts of the people are warmed. Parties are held in the court and merchant houses. The Queen's pregnancy progresses well. All signs point to a healthy child growing in the queen's womb.

After the raid in Cliffport, pirate activity seems to have lessened in the western ocean. The safe haven of that city has diminished. The royal navy has been rumored to be planning an attack to land a division of Infantry and Knights to take the city from the outlaws and bring justice to the pirate captains and their crews.

The tales of the brigand leader Manoryx continue around Crolon. Raids by his followers are becoming more common and bolder. Units of the Infantry on patrol report contact with bands of humanoids scouting the towns and villages bordering the Bitroot mountains and Lake Ithak.

MITTENDIEN

Although it is a hot summer in the south of the kingdom, in the north there are still nightly frosts, even at the heat of the season. A constant watch is set at the Schwartzburg bridge, but all seems scarily quiet from the frost giants.

Nothing else particularly of note happens.

CAEDMON

The spring turns to summer in Caedmon and all are relieved to feel the renewed warmth. There are many preparations at The Northgate as work is continuing quickly.

With the alarming report from the scouts that the giants had camped but have left, a larger expeditionary force is sent north. The entire northern army is put on alert as the weeks drag on and nothing is heard from the men. A messenger finally arrives after three weeks, reporting that the expeditionary force has encountered no force of giants. However, with all the snow melted and cleared it is discovered what has happened to the giants. Several miles north of the encampments the expeditionary force discovered a large battlefield. The giants seemed to have turned on one another, though for what reason it is unclear. Scores of dead giants are found, most bludgeoned to death. A message is sent to the force withdrawing them from the north.

With this news the kingdom is overjoyed. Festivals are held and there is much celebrating. Work on the Northgate is nearly abandoned for a time.

King Dolan expects that there may be something behind this luck for Caedmon and quietly begins sending for well-trained scouts to explore the northern areas. King Dolan also makes sure that the Northgate will be completed, though with the immediate threat gone the work is less hurried.

With the summer months bringing nothing but prosperity the people of Caedmon find much to celebrate...
