Summer heat is bleh

Sometimes I wonder why I work every weekend and pass on going to the lakefront cabin with the rest of the family.

It's like the weather got turned to the Hell setting.

It's been crazy! Today, though, was a little more mild around here, though.

For the past week the temperature has peaked at 100 to 105. I walked outside today and wondered if I'd accidentally stepped into one of the planets from the Riddick Chronicles.

Not that I'm complaining. It definitely beats the cold weather we have around here.

No fair!! None of you people say where you are. :p

The heat here kills me, although it's only been around 90. I grew up in western Texas, where it is typically 90 - 100 degrees at this time of year, but here in Oregon the humidity is much higher than west Texas, which I find very trying. I also don't have air conditioning at home, which can be really miserable.

I live right on Lake Erie, and have a beautiful six-mile long beach within a ten-minute drive. I was out there after working riding my bike and enjoying the weather.

I know the hot weather is literally killing people in places, and to everyone sweltering in discomfort, you are in my thoughts and I hope better weather is on the way for you. But I'll not speak against the heat here. Last year was so cool that my buddy got to use his in-ground pool for about a week all year. For me, this summer is payback for the crappy weather we had here last year. It may not help, but at least the weather is great somewhere. :heh:

Okay, call me a psycho, bit I love the heat and humidity. I love summer. I like working in it, playing in it, riding my bike in it. I can fish the streams of Pennsylvania from morning through evening regardless of the temperature and humidity. In fact, I plan on fishing tomorrow and its going to be sweltering. Yah! :)
