Summoner: Giving the People What They Want

14. A taxonomist of extraplanar entities, intent on cataloging, and enslaving, them all
15. A magician with the curious ability to summon a soldier from another time and place, an entity that calls itself Joe Schultz of the US Marines.

On a recent thread over on the Paizo forums, James Jacobs said something to the effect of, "through the summoner, you can make nearly any of the monsters from the Bestiary once you get high enough level."

I'm hoping that Ultimate Magic brings enough additional evolutions to actually make that true (I want my clockwork golem, dangit!).

Okay, why did you have to put this image in my head?

The Auld Grump

17. Spirits from the realm of dreams, given form by the summoner's call
18. Emulate your Final Fantasy summon of choice

26. A clockwork construct from Mechanus
27. The future reincarnation of the summoner
28. A famous hero of the past or ancestor
29. The manifestation of a god or primordial (perhaps a divine bend would be in order)
30. An elemental
31. A sort of Patronis (from Harry Potter)
32. A forgotten horror from beyond time and space (Hound of Tindilos?)
33. A contrarian doppelganger
34. A guardian dragon "spirit"
35. A demonic imp
36. A fey pact "spirit"
37. A manifested kami ("spirit" of nature)
38. An ancient war machine from the scrapyard of Acheron
39. A Valkyrie or einheirar
40. A statue or figurine brought to life by mystical link (like Drizzt's Gwenheuvar)
41. A totem "spirit"

43. As an experiment in fusing demon blood with a tiefling to create a super-demon mortal creature. The sorcerous magical talent and manifestation of this demon creature being the unexpected results of this heretofore considered "failed" experiment.

This one is actually how my brother is letting one of his players play a summoner. It also activates as a self-defense mechanism (when her blood is shed from a wound), meaning she has to hurt herself to manifest the creature, and it can show up by accident when it's not so good (a demon manifesting in the middle of a bar fight, etc).
The benefit being that she can manifest it as a swift action (or free action if by accident/wounded in combat).

I thought that was a rather unique idea.
