Summoner with "archer" eidolon

First Post
I'm brewing up a character for an upcoming campaign, and the party is lacking both a character with good "rogue" skills, i.e. disable device, umd, etc. and a ranged attacker. How viable would a summoner be with an archer eidelon?

Assuming Level 5 Summoner (Half-Elf for extra evolution points), I'm thinking this as my Eidelon:

Base: Serpentine
Limbs (Arms): 2
Limbs (Legs): 2
Skilled (Disable Device): 1
Skilled (Perception): 1
Flight: 2
Low-Light Vision:1

Feats: Weapon Proficiency (Longbow)
Precise Shot

Have you considered Synthesist to be both yourself? Archery is feat heavy and the eidolon accumulates them slowly. Plus w/ Half-Elf, you can get bow proficiency as a racial feature. Why serpentine? Not only does that not have arms to start w/, it lacks legs and is thus prone (can't shoot a bow), too! It is probably the worst base form for archery.

EDIT: And you need Point Blank to get Precise Shot.

Try this (using 20 point buy):

Half-Elf Synthesist 5 (biped base form -- "Centaur Archer")

Str 7, Dex 12, Con 12, Int 14, Wis 14, Cha 18 initial
Str 7, Dex 12, Con 12, Int 14, Wis 14, Cha 19 at level 5
Str 16, Dex 18, Con 14, Int 14, Wis 14, Cha 18 fused with eidolon

HP: 5d8 +10 and 37 (5d10 +10) temporary hp (from the eidolon)
AC: 25 (10 +4 mage armor +4 dex +6 natural +1 buckler)

Feats:
1 Martial Weapon Proficiency (Longbow) [Half-Elf; APG variant for Skill Focus]
1 Point Blank Shot
3 Precise Shot
5 Rapid Shot

Evolutions:
Limbs (Arms): 2
Skilled (Disable Device): 1
Skilled (Perception): 1
Flight: 2
Improved Natural Armor: 1
Ability Score Increase (Dex +2): 2

Equipment:
+1 Composite Longbow (+3 str)
Mithral Buckler
whatever else

You already have low-light for being half-elf, and the eidolon gives you darkvision as well. You can swap the natural armor for Skilled (Use Magic Device) if needed, but +2 AC is nice.
