Sun/Moon prophecy help

emergent

First Post
In my game, the goddess of the moon is the daughter of the sun god. Said goddess is just "emerging" into the world and one of the PC's is the moon goddesses only cleric. No one knows this goddess is the daughter of the sun god, even the PC.
She tried to "come out" in the past but screwed up her goddess duties and was worshiped by evil lycanthropes who conducted nasty sacrifies in her name.

The PC cleric is, of course, looking for info about her goddess. All the research points toward this earlier (evil) incarnation, which is making the PC a little worried (mwahahahaha).

But I want to clue her into the goddess real (good) nature and the fact that she's the sun god's daughter, so I am looking for some sort of prophecy, but of scripture, what-have-you to clue my PC in.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

IMHO, in order for the premise of the PC being a cleric to make sense, it seems that the cleric should be charged with a divine mission from a deity sharing the same values as the PC through some sort of divine revelation. The cleric should be convinced of the god's benevolence in the vision, but might experience doubt later.

For instance, the god may charge the cleric with the recovery of one of her artifacts in an old, ruined temple (which used to belong to her evil lycanthropic worshippers). The cleric would recognize the god's symbols not only on the artifact, but on the temple itself, depicted in scenes of evil rituals. This may be accompanied by flashes of visions of the evil rituals taking place in the temple. As this point, the cleric may doubt the goodness of the moon goddess, except for the few words carved in the altar of the temple, which states the origin of the moon goddess as the daughter of the good sun god in a prophecy.

Well, we are playing with the whole "I have power but I am not entirely sure where it comes from" trope in regards to the cleric. The cleric has received visions and indirect communciation from the goddess which have convinced her of the goddesses benevolence/good alignment. But it is the historical record that gives the cleric pause -- the sage she has talked to could only find references to evil lycanthope cults in relation to a moon goddess. So it is playing out as you have suggested, I have just not done a good job in conveying it.

Suggestions on the prophecy itself? I have been playing with the silver and gold dynamic of the moon and the sun, but nothing is really coming.

Thanks for the reply perivas!

I don't know if I quite understand... is the prophesy supposed to be a subtle hint to the player or a revelation?

If you want a revelation, a one which might be uncertain, perhaps... what if the character was dreaming, dreaming she is walking at night, and the moon changes to a face and speaks to her?
