Will the Sundering be a mini campaign for the latest D&D packet and will it for be level(s) 1 through....? Also, does this mean that D&D next will using Forgotten Realms as the campaign setting and the Sundering as a start off point for the adventures? If so than what is the reason for Ghosts of Dragonspear Castle? It also seems to be a D&D next campaign setting but in a different campaign setting and city???

I doubt that D&D Next will specify a "default" campaign setting. From what I've seen there will be a series of adventures for The Sundering(I believe 3) that are coming out over the next 6 months. The first one doesn't come out until October.

Ghosts of Dragonspear Castle is a series of adventures that will be available in August. I think partially just to get adventures out to the public so that people have an excuse to play D&D Next. And also so they had an adventure to run for their special All Access Pass at GenCon.

The Sundering adventures are to the Forgotten Realms what the D&D Next Playtest is to D&D. It's part promotion, part user generated content. The results of the Sundering adventures will develope how the new (old) realms might look:

Will Bhaal be resurrected? And if so, who will morph into Bhaal? The new playtest package gives hints: Silvershield, the head of the Flaming fist, or that other NPC whose name I forgot, or maybe even a PC? Stuff like that.

And I'm pretty sure I read that the FR will be the default setting for the new D&D settings. If Pathfinder can do it, so can D&D. And it's a pretty smart move.
