Sunrocket Phone Service?

Methinks he must work for them. It's a guess, since I missed the "product endorsement" ad he wrote...

I figured he does, which made it all the stranger. Does he just sit around all day, looking for references to Sunrocket? I need that job. ;)

I just did a search myself, and this thread shows up on Google, so they may well have somebody whose job includes performing web searches for message board mentions of their product, then going to those boards and plugging the product. I'd hope that's not his only job, but yeah, it's a little creepy that they are watching for all mentions of their service.

Maybe they intend for it to be some kind of "viral marketing" ploy, by encouraging good discussion of their service, but it looks more like shills.

Especially for a "company" noone's heard of before someone asking about them here.... :uhoh:

I've heard of Vonage but not these guys.
I hear the radio commercials pretty frequently out here... have yet to actually talk to anyone that has the service...

I just checked their site and it's not in my area. That's probably why I've never heard of them. I'd never heard of Vonage either until I saw a TV commercial for it when it was available here.

Until about a year ago, my wife and I were in the same situation you're in. We were using cellphones exclusively but decided to get a land line since we figured one should be in the house for the babysitter and we didn't want to keep leaving one of our cellphones behind. We have Cox cable and internet service, so we looked to them for phone. We pay $15/month for basic phone service which includes 3-way calling, call waiting and caller id. It's also $.05/minute for LD. I've looked into Vonage, but we're actually getting a really good deal from Cox so I'm not looking to switch anytime soon. :)

Yeah, the "ad" posts were nothing very exciting: just someone coming in with a raving review of the product as their first post, as well as a link to their website a request that you follow a banner-ad from their website to sun rocket's own site. Pretty classic spamming technique; presumably if you followed the banner, it'd earn money for the poster, and that's not a game we want to play.
