Superhero Goodness

Inspired by this cool re-imagining of the X-Men in a Victorian Occult theme, I've been thinking about how the X-Men might look if they'd evolved as independent superheroes, along the lines of the Justice League.

Here are my takes:
Professor X + Superman = Professor Superior
[SBLOCK] On the planet Xenon, a war raged between two factions: the Science Council, which valued learning and progress, and the reactionary and xenophobic Sentinel Guard. This war ultimately resulted in the annihilation of the planet, but not before the leader of the Science Council sent his only son, Xav-Er, toward planet earth in a prototype rocket.
On Earth, the boy was found and adopted by an Oxford Professor and his wife, and given the name Charles Kenton. As a Xenonian, Charles is blessed with an intellectual capacity far beyond that of any human--Indeed, his mind is so strong that he can psychically influence lesser beings. But because Earth’s gravity is so much stronger than that of Xenon, Charles is confined to a wheelchair for life.
Charles realized that unless he took action, the same bitter warfare that destroyed his planet would consume our own. So he created a disguise and fights the forces of ignorance and oppression as Professor Superior.[/SBLOCK]
Angel + Batman = Avenging Angel
[SBLOCK] Brian Worthington was the son of aircraft designer Thomas Worthington--and when Brian saw his parents shot to death in a situation of industrial-espionage-gone-wrong, he vowed revenge. Using his father’s vast wealth, he traveled the globe learning the arts of combat and criminology. Now he has constructed a pair of glider-wings based on one of his father’s designs, and fights crime and corruption as The Avenging Angel.[/SBLOCK]
Cyclops + Wonder Woman = Summer Prince
[SBLOCK] The Fomorians, a tribe of spirits from Irish mythology, live in a hidden place known as the Isle of Summer. When a pilot named Jordan Grey crashed her plane on the island, the Fomorians learned that the world had greatly changed in the past millennia. It was decided that a representative from the island would accompany Grey back to the mortal realm.
Cyclops, son of King Balor One-Eye, was smitten with Grey and earned the right to represent the hidden land in a series of grueling tests. Like his father, Cyclops has but one eye, and a glance from the open eye means fiery death. Now he lives a covert mortal life under the name Sylar Scott, while using his deadly eye and his warrior training to fight evil as The Summer Prince.
[/SBLOCK]
Jean Grey + Green Lantern = Phoenix Ranger
[SBLOCK] Jordan Grey’s experiences on the Isle of Summer demonstrated adaptability, curiosity, and serenity--three traits highly prized by the Shi’ar Imperium--the Interstellar Empire that controls our portion of the galaxy. Jordan was recruited as a Phoenix Ranger, a member of the Imperium’s police force. As a ranger, Jordan wears a medallion that lets her tap into a strange power known as the Phoenix Force, granting her telekinesis, pyrokenisis, and limited telepathy with which to combat interstellar crime.[/SBLOCK]
Iceman + Aquaman = Northman
[SBLOCK] When arctic explorer Robert Drake found the hidden kingdom of Ultima Thule, he beheld many wonders. But none were as wondrous as the princess Svanhild, and the two instantly fell in love. But Svanhild’s father disapproved of the arrangement, so they were forced to flee the land. Tragically, Svanhild died in childbirth the next year, but Drake cherished his son Bobby as a reminder of his mother. As the rightful heir to the throne of Ultima Thule, Bobby can command the North Wind--being borne aloft by its gusts or directing it’s icy blasts at his enemies. Now, as Northman, he fights threats in the northern lands, and fights to reclaim his throne.[/SBLOCK]
Beast + Martian Manhunter = Gorilla Guardian
[SBLOCK] In the distant past, a tribe of super-intelligent gorillas created a vast empire. In our time, a scientist named Dr. Jonathan Ohnn is conducting experiments related to dimensional transportation when he accidentally reaches into the past to bring a gorilla named Hnak M’Koa into the present day. Unable to return to the past, Hnak is left without a family and without a culture. But he firmly believes that good things come to good people, and so puts his considerable brain and considerable brawn to work as The Gorilla Guardian.[/SBLOCK]
Wolverine + Flash = Claw
[SBLOCK] Barry Logan was a Zoologist conducting experiments on Wolverines. But when the building he was in was struck by lighting, the unique alignment of animal cages channeled the electricity through the wolverines into Barry in such a way that many of the wolverine’s characteristics were imprinted upon his DNA. Now Barry can grow claws or fangs at will, and possesses a wolverine’s strength, speed, durability, heightened senses, and poor temper. He channels his aggression into a productive cause, fighting criminals as The Claw.[/SBLOCK]

I love it!

Except for maybe the Wolverine one: it's just got too much Silver or Golden age pseudo-science compared to all the others. Maybe he could get splashed with lightening-charged blood samples instead.

That's kinda the point. The flash has the most ridiculously Pseudoscientific background ever, and I wanted to preserve that.
