It did rather suffer from Varying Power Level(tm), though.
Batman gets the crap beaten out of him by a being more powerful than Superman - and doesn't have a single injury. A groan, and he stands up and is fine. Despite being thrown through solid walls.
I don't think Darkseid was interested in killing Batman... Or even seriously injuring him. He wanted to call his bluff
and get him to disarm the bombs. No reason to severely damage him.
Darkseid is super-powerful, takes Superman out in half a second, like he's swatting a fly. Supergirl fights him for a while, but still loses. Then Superman comes back and beats the crap out of Darkseid.
Hmmm... Superman comes back and begins to beat the crap out of Darkseid only to end up being at Darkseid's mercy until Supergirl recovers.
God, I love that fight!
That being said, your complaints regarding Batman's jetback (which looks a lot like Orion's glider) are reasonable. I have no answer to that at all.
The only "caveat" I have is that this is based upon a comic written by Jeph Loeb at a time when he was writing a lot crap. Indeed, I think this adaptation is actually better than original (particularly the final fight).
Plus Batman can get hit by a Doomsday and not be jelly.
Oh, wait - no. Doomsday. Doomsday x 500. 1 x Doomsday = kill Superman. So how does 500 x Doomsday = Superman blasts them all away easily with his heat vision? Did he just think getting killed by Doomsday would be all emo and cool and stuff the first time round, but this time figured maybe he'd better use is 500x Doomsday killing power since he'd done the death thing before and it would be dramatically repetitive?
I don't think these clones are as powerful as the original Doomsday. I'd have to check the comic to see if this is stated outright, but I do know that Darkseid started cloning Doomsdays and I suspect he intentionally made them weaker than the original.
Still, Supes's ability to atomize them (in this and the original comic) was a bit much.
Oh, and how tough are those Amazons? So, they can kick Supergirl's ass in a duel; and are pretty good against Doomsdays. And Supergirl is apparently more powerful than Superman. So there's a
whole island of women more powerful than Superman? And they just sit around eating grapes and having occasional dueling competitions? And Superman has
any respect for their moral codes and stances (not that he has a choice, because they're all tougher than him).
Actually, Supergirl is holding back against Artemis. Superman says so himself while watching the duel.
That said, the manner in which the Amazonians fight against the Doomsdays was... Well, it was kind of stupid. But so was Batman lasting as long as he did.
