Support Tank

I am getting ready to start playing in an Eberron campaign and I am having trouble deciding on a build for my character. I am playing a shifter and will be a support tank for the party. At the moment I want to play up the wild element of the shifter and I am considering either building into Animal Lord or a Beloved of Valarian. Any ideas would be appreciated.

OK when I think TANK I think someone whom can take a crapload of damage. Do you want to be the one who can take a ton of damage and has staying power or the one who can dish out a buttload of damage in short amounts of time?

Cmanos I was hoping to have a build that was capable of dishing out fast damage but still be able to take a decent amount of hits. Also I looked at the WoTC board but most of the recomdations involved the Races of Eberron book which I do not have access to at the time.

Just go for a shifter barbarian. With the right choice of shifting trait, you'd have good durability and ability to cause damage. And a barbarian fits with the "wild element" of a shifter, as you put it. Are you starting at 1st level?

Yes I am starting the character at first level and thanks I'll consider the Barbarian class as an option for my primary class.
