Survivor 10/30 with spoilers

I'm sure some you watch the show, especially with this year's cool pirate theme.

How great was last night's twist?

I personally would've preferred a "ghost ship" tribe that could compete in challenges and impede and annoy the other tribes, but NOT have a chance to win anything.

BUT i like the twist anyway. Gotta love how theyre still managing to keep this show fresh. ITs a shame that after this season last season were so good, that cbs is killing their momentum with an all-star survivor.

I really hope Rupert, Johnny Fairplay and Andrew all survive to the merge, especially if Burton comes back, could have some FUN.

We watch Survivor every Friday in my Psychology class. Today's(last night's) was really great. I'd really like to see Rupert and Andrew make it all the way...I'm finding it kind of interesting that the focus is mostly on the men this year. The women aren't really getting into things as much as last season, it seems. It'll be interesting to see which two of the Outcasts come back...

I cannot believe how much of a wimp Osten was. For as big and muscled guy that he is, he should have been a power in that game and not a whinning quitter.

Glad I'm not the only one thinking that...but really, even though he's probably one of THE two strongest this season...he's just got NO willpower at all. The poor guy is works in an office and seems to enjoy the modern life a bit too much. A well...at least that's another First for this season. ;)

I could not agree more. While he had the physical strength, his force of will was nonexistant.

Even though they advertised the heck out of the twist, it was still pretty fun.

Osten deserves no respect and he got none from the show, nor Jeff. Jeff actually seemed kinda mad. I would be, too. There are so many people who want to get on that show (me included) and go on an adventure and for someone to wuss out like that is just sad.

Survivor needed a little twist like this. :)

I was hoping for this as well. I think it would be great to have a third tribe act as a spoiler for the other two. I am curious how the Outcast vote will be handled. Why would you want to vote someone back into the game other than yourself?

There is only one reason: Because they have to. They've probably spoken about who deserves it the most or maybe they will vote based on the individual performances in the challenge. Half the people don't know each other so this should be interesting. What a great way for CBS to squeeze another episode out of the show without making the survivors stay for extra days.

Don't assume that the Outcasts don't know each other. We still haven't been told what that group has been doing since the time each was voted out. I'm hoping that they've just been on another island since then, with tribe members being added rather than subtracted. Based on the limited previews and holding off on the Outcast vote, I'm hoping that next week's shows focuses only on them and what they've been up to.

And as for an earlier comment, I think the All Star Survivor idea is being done to get people interested in the old shows again, as they now have enough episodes for a syndication deal.

After having watched the series since it began with the first, I have to say that this is probably the best season since Australia. The fact that the prodcution team keeps finding new ways to spice up the show every season helps keep it fresh. Osten was out of his element from day one. He has strength but was a chicken around water. He cost that tribe one challenge after the other. Thursday's night show was definitely a first as far as someone willingly quitting. Jeff was practically livid and I would have loved to have been a spider on the set to hear the post production chatter on that one.

My personal favorite is Rupert, but he is so strong that he will have to constantly win immunity once the merger or he will be voted out. I wish they would get rid of Jon, I haven't liked that guy since day one. He's one that doesn't deserve to be there either. I think it would be interesting to see the final three as Savage, Burton and Rupert but I doubt it would ever happen...
