Survivor (Spoilers)

Uh... I think it's pretty clear that she is quite aware that she doesn't have any "friends" in the tribe - and hasn't for a while.

"Bad sportsmanship" in Survivor? I haven't heard that one before...

I agree, with your hope and your doubt. I've never been a big Shi Ann fan, but I was glad to see her win immunity just to shake things up a little. Now, if she had not been such a bitch about it then she might have been able to win some people over and bring down RobandAmber. Instead, they are all itching to get rid of her new, moreso than before.

Well, all the players made it quite clear prior the immunity challenge that they wanted HER out. How do you want her to behave ? To have so much hostility aimed at you, and to be able to one-up them, you'd think she would be able to wise up and think ?

Her little victory display was anything but misplaced, and all the players saying "you have to still spend your days with us, behave..." I would go "WTF ? you made it clear you DON'T want me around, so give me a good reason WHY I should go on kissing your hypocritical butts now that I have fouled your plans to KICK ME OUT ? ? ? It's not like it's going to make a difference ! YOU'LL VOTE ME OUT ANYWAYS !"

Shii Ann had every right to gloat. I think its worse to tell someone that, hey, this is what everyone else decided, your out tonight. To say it before the immunity challenge was inviting disaster. I loved the look on Rob's face when he dumped his water, and when Rupe dumped his water. After that I don't care who wins. The underdog may win one here or there, but you know it won't last. But to get that win was classic, and Shi's only chance to throw it in their faces.

It was a blast to see Lex and Cathy smirking at Tribal realising that Shi-Ann had the immunity necklace around her neck.

Priceless.

They should have brought back that curly blond haired guy from the last survivor in the all-star. You know, the one that faked his mother passing away. With him and Boston Rob in the same survivor, that would have created interesting situations.

But I guess they (the producers) realised that he would have been kicked out quite early. "Hey... I remember you... aren't you the guy that swore on his non-dead mothers grave to secure alliances ? Yeah. That's you. The tribe has spoken. Grab your torch. It's time for you to go."

trains.. the lack of johnny fairplay has been explained numerous times. he didnt become INfamous until AFTER they extended invitations to the rest of the all-stars. rupert was an instant pearl islands hit, but johnny fairplay wasnt until the evil dead grandmother swerve. johnny fairplay got HOSED.
he woulda cake-walked through these brain-dead knuckleheads.

anywho..back to the actual show.

the reason most people can't see why the others arent voting off rob and amber is simple. the others are all perfectly content to GET TO THE FINAL FOUR AND TAKE THEIR CHANCES.

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM thinks that if they make the final four, they will either 1> win immunity 2> not get voted off because someone else is a bigger threat to WIN.

at this point some of them WANT to take ROB to the jury because they (incorrectly) think he won't win.

sadly, guessing at how the jury will actually vote is just that..guessing.
the jury loves to pull votes out of thin air and change their already made up mind for completely nonsense reasons (see deaf christie and others vote for stupid witch jenna to win after saying she never would)

but put rob in the jury against any of the other 5. who would beat him?
maybe rupert? maybe amber? and even those arent sure things.
sure they dislike rob, but they dislike the others just as much or more.
jenna is annoying, they don't like shii-ann very much, everyone treats tom as a joke. against amber, i can see Rob easily getting the votes from Tom, Rupert, Cathy and at least one catty girl. rupert would probably be his toughest opponent in the jury. chances of rupert getting there? slim and none.

rob has sucessfully become richard hatch. the "bad guy" who everyone thinks will lose at the jury but will actually win. by convincing them that he will lose, he removes the target from himself.

unlike richard though, rob has done this while still being the alpha male who wins a ton of immunity challenges. if he does make it to jury all he has to do is point out how much of a target he was playing with on his back the entire time, and that should be game over.

rupert and jenna are next to go. (this would be ANOTHER mistake on rob and ambers part. breaking up every alliance of two, but leaving 3 singles out there who could team up against them at 5. doenst matter, theyll get away with it)
shii-ann's out at 4 because either amber or rob will realize that the final challenge is always an uncomfy balance challenge like the one shii-ann just ate them alive in.
amber wins the final challenge, takes rob with her to the jury.
rob wins.
they date for a few months
his million gives him groupies
she breaks up with him
and gets back at him by posing in playboy and insulting his manhood.
the end.

I realized that today as well. The 3 is ALWAYS a balancing act, and Shi-Ann will win it hand's down. For the first time she will actually be seen as a threat. In fact, they'd be smart to take her out before 4, as you never know what the next challenge will be and she is also pretty good on the puzzle challenges.

gah! I can't stand Rob ... they need him out. I'm waiting for Amber to turn on Rob.

I know he'd turn on her if thought everyone else was going to try to vote her out.

I LOVE you analysis. So beleivable.

Like most, I hate Rob (my wife unit wants to kill him, especially with his behaviour in his last Survivor towards women), but I can see that happening.

Cant see your wife killing him..

I hope not. :heh:

I also hate Rob, but you have to give him credit. He is really doing well.

Er, posters here can indeed see that Rupert and Jenna are perfectly content to do that. Tom obviously is not; he clearly believes he can get to the final three, otherwise he wouldn't have meekly voted off his only available ally in a 2 vs. 2 final four showdown. Shi Ann clearly does not believe she can take her chances anywhere before the final two.

What's less clear, and what's been under discussion, is why Rupert and Jenna would think they're headed for the final four with the only other strong 2-person alliance in the game. Why would RobandAmber entertain that crapshoot at final four, when instead they can go with two individuals and guarantee one of them makes it to the final three? Any strong two-person alliance that makes it to the final four has a huge advantage, so shirking opportunities to break what might be the strongest two-person alliance in the history of the show doesn't make much sense.

Anyone other than Amber has likely two guaranteed votes (Lex and Kathy), and the others could easily split, which makes it a tough hole for Rob to dig himself out of. Tom would destroy him (popular with the Chaperas, and also beneficiary of the Mogo Mogo 'hate Rob' vote). Shi Ann would likely beat him (if she makes the final two despite the Pagonging of Mogo Mogo, she'll certainly deserve the million). Rupert would have a good shot (seen as a bit of a buffoon, but nobody really hates him). Jenna would have an OK shot. Amber is the only one where it's chancy... and that's why RobandAmber are such a strong alliance: each of them knows the other is now their best chance at the jury.

It's kinda weird that All-Stars has been marked more by bad play than by brilliant play. Every week that RobandAmber is still in the game just marks another week of bad play by everybody else at this point.
