SVGames disconinuing ESDs!

Another possibility.....I read somewhere that WOTC was considering releasing their old products on DriveThru. It could be that they are pulling the PDFs from SVGames to eventually have them show up on DriveThru. In that way, they are not dealing with two distributors and they got the illusion of some security (either watermark or DRM) while dealing with DriveThru.

However WotC was speaking about out of print WotC products in this instance, not OoP TSR product. As far as I know RPGNow is going to continue carrying the old TSR stuff. (And if not then there are a few things I want to pick up, because I will not buy DRM protected materials, which is what WotC has on Drivethru.

The Auld Grump - World Builders Guidebook for starters...

The stuff from Drivethru is now just watermarked, rather than dealing with the previous crippling DRM. There is a limit to the number of times you can download the product (five, IIRC), but since you can always make your own backups, that seems a trivial inconvenience. I've never downloaded anything more than once from any company, myself.

Not correct in the case of WOTC. DriveThru offers their vendors the option of using DRM or watermarking. WOTC has so far opted for DRM.

Could the primary reason for SVGames' move be a decision to dump PDF sales to concentrate on print sales. I remember reading that the online sales mechanism had some complications due to the PDFs.
