[svgames/WOTC ESDs] Argh! Argh! ARGH!!!!

This is intensely frustrating. I bought almost the entire line of Alternity, and I'm spending hours just trying to download the first supplement (Star*Drive campaign setting).

I know that svgames can't burn the files to CD, due to agreements with WOTC, but why can't they burn the secondary files only?

For those who don't know, svgames takes large PDF files and splits them up. You need to use the free program provided on their webpage to put them back together again. If you don't have everything, it doesn't work.

But while you have to buy access to the first of the files, the additional files are available to anyone who wants them on the product page.

So here I am, spending six hours downloading files #2 through #4, when anyone with broadband and a CD burner could get them in minutes (I'm guessing; I don't know broadband speeds). Sure, I have to download file #1 myself, but why can't I pay svgames to burn the other files for me?

alas I think the problem lies more with your slow connection and the gaming medium (Downloaded PDF files), than SV Games and WOTC. If your car gas tank only accepted straws, is the gas station at fault? PDFs are cheap precisely because they require very little overhead,(No packaging, shipping labels boxes, shipping personel etc).

I understand your frustration, but your connection speed is at fault here.

Think they'd mind if I asked anyone reading this thread (those with broadband and cd-burners) could download and burn those excess files for me?

I'd still download the "available only if you buy 'em, and then confirm you bought them with your credit card number" files...

Right now, I'm 9.56MB into file #2 and 7.89MB into file #3. And I still have to start file #4 eventually. Of course, if I get bumped offline again, I've lost all that downloading time, dang it...

It wouldn't be so bad if they'd allow the use of RealDownload. Then I could download it like I'm downloading the demo for Space Empires 4 Gold and the newest Adobe Acrobat Reader: a few megabytes at a time.

My darn computer crashed! After three hours of downloading, I lost EVERYTHING I was downloading. Over TWENTY *#(&%)(#&% MEGABYTES!!!!!!

Is there anyone out there with broadband and a burner who wants to do me a favor and send me the freely available on the product page files for the following products:

I'll download the "requires credit card validation to download" files myself, but all this getting kicked offline and having Blue Screens of Death is really frustrating!

If I can't download the files, and get get them offline, I'm going to have to cancel the order...
