Swallow Whole?

Is there a ballpark guideline for how much damage characters must do to cut their way out of a creature that has swallowed them? It's supposed to say in the creature description but the one I'm thinking of (which shall remain nameless ;) ) is missing that information.

Could depend on the size mostly. Huge has 25 hit points (at least the examples I just found all have 25).

Try to think of a similar creature and look it up for a number. The follow are all the SRD creatures with Swallow Whole, their sizes, and the corresponding cut number.

t-rex (huge): 25
tarrasque (colossal): 50
gibbering mouther (medium): 5
behir (huge): 25
nightcrawler (gargantuan): 35
tendriculos (huge): 25
remorhaz (huge): 25
purple worm (gargantuan): 25
dire shark (huge): 25

What monster? There might be No Way Out. If the entry says cutting out can be accomplished, but does not say how much damage it takes to do so, check the errata for the book.

That's the problem and there is no errata.

Thanks for the help all! I've got enough info to make an executive DM decision. :p
