Swarms vs Swarm....

I'd say you can't stack identical swarms.

But if you do... With 7 centipede swarms in the same space, each swarm would be damaged by the 6 other swarms each round. Each swarm deal swarm damage, which is not weapon damage (come on, if it were, you wouldn't have swarm rules to begin with; the prospect of swarms having more trouble than some guy with a polearm fighting off other swarms is ludicrous -- each individual centipede isn't halving the damage inflicted on him by another centipede).

So, each of the stacked swarm gets 12d6 of unavoidable damage each round... That's on average 42 damage, and since each swarm has 31 hp on average; statistically, all your swarms are decimated and scattered.

And yes, engulfing creatures can engulf each others. It's called "osmosis". Of course I would use some DM fiat in some circumstances (mosquito swarm and gelatinous cube engulf each others, mosquito swarm is annihilated instantly, gelcube feels just fine).

The limit on recursive engulfment is purely and simply DM patience.
