Switching the monk a bit.

The monk has always been a cool class with the interesting things like slow fall and all those other ki abilities. But I've always been annoyed by the rogue's base attack bonus, and I've always wanted more skills for ultimate mobility.

What would you guys take away from the monk to up the amount of skills he gets or increase base attack, or both while keeping more martial artsy stuff and less ki stuff.

Hrmmm, maybe I can help with my opinions... As I'm unfamiliar with 3.5, I'll use the 3.0 Monk....not sure which you need though.

For more skills:
Cut fast movement progression in half....each 10 feet of improvement becomes 5 feet instead. Remove Slow Fall. Maybe remove Ki Strike. Increase skill points by 2 and maybe add 2-4 more skills to the class skill list.

For more BAB:
Remove Unarmed Attack Bonus. Remove Evasion, Improved Evasion, Wholeness Of Body, Abundant Step, Tongue Of The Sun And Moon, and Empty Body. Make BAB = Monk level.

This may work, but again, I'm not quite certain what you want the changes for, so I'm not sure what kinda stuff you would want the Monk to keep....
 

Or I could suggest my Budoka class, a nonmagical version of the Monk.....

interesting class
BTW I was talking about 3.0, I'm not gonna go memorise those new rules which are almost the same but slightly different than the old ones.

Anyone else have ideas?
