Sword and Sorcery - Scarred Lands

First Post
I am a brand new DM (Been playing for a few years now) and was thinking of using the Scarred Lands Campaign Setting but I was wondering about the modules for it. Off of their website, if I go to the "Necromancer Games" tab I see a bunch of modules, but couldn't tell if they were written for the Scarred Lands setting or not, or if it even mattered. Any advice from the experts?

Thanks much :D

So far the modular support has been minimal.

There is a free adventure and a trilogy (last book yet to come out) that deals with Mormo.

Most modules, due to their 'generic' nature, if you will, can be placed in almost any campaign. Tombs of Ab... can't spell, 2nd-8th level, is a great one. Mini-campaign setting in and of itself. Then they're the Amulet of Freya I think? Another good starter. Note, that's if you're just looking for Necromancer products.

I started my 3rd ed campaign off with NeMoren's Legacy and just altered some of the background. The NeMoren's used to be a family that held sway when the Northern Procterate stood strong and is now a shadow of its former self, tying it into the whole Mitrhil book and region.

Joe's right. The only TRUE module series at the moment is The Serpent Amphora Cycle. (The third and final half is due out next week, the 14th.)

If you want a sneak peak at how the story goes, can give you the Pre-quel to the first two modules. Here's the link. (It's in PDF but it's quite good, IMHO.)

Whoah. The third half? I'm impressed. I didn't know I'd worked on a project so incredibly huge it had more than two halves!

:D ;)

Hey mouseferatu, I didn't realize you were working on some of the SL material (hadn't looked in-depth). I know this sounds bad, but since 'the Gilded Cage', seeing your name in a book has reassured me of it's good quality. Please do more!!

Wow. Thanks. I really appreciate comments like that. :)

So far, the only SL material I've worked on is the Serpent Amphora trilogy (I wrote half or more of each of the three books, based on an outline by Joe Carriker). But I'm a writer and co-developer on the Termana harcover, and a few other things coming up in the future that I'm not at liberty to discuss yet.

So no worries. I intend to be working for SSS (to say nothing of various other D20 companies) for as long as they'll have me. :D

Necromancer Games modules have very little to do with the Scarred Lands setting - they are just distributed by Sword&Sorcery Studios, the same people who make SL.

Very true Melan.

Ari, Doh! I meant third! ;) My math, not so good. But I certainly can't wait for the Termana HC.

Hey nightfall: a question. In the scarred lands, when was the last time the two moons were both full? It says every 6 and a quarter years in the CS book, but not the most recent date of such an occurance. Is there any cannon on this, or should I just make it up?

Thought I answered this question in another posting. I know Grimmy you asked this. I believe I responded. Might want to check...
