Thought I'd post from the catalog and share my thoughts...

JANUARY 2005
GLADES OF DEATH NECROMANCER 1-58846-791-0 8367 $29.99
EVERQUEST II RPG SPELL GUIDE EVERQUEST II 1-58846-998-0 16551 $34.99

Glades of Death looks good. Everquest II... well, I don't think I've played the first one enough to make an informed decesion.

MARCH 2005
MONTE COOK’S ARCANA EVOLVED MALHAVOC 1-58846-780-5 16146 $49.99
THE DRAGONS’ RETURN MALHAVOC FICTION 1-58846-883-6 16147 $6.99
THE SECOND AGE OF WALKERS DRAGONMECH 1-58846-782-1 17603 $29.99
THE WURST OF GRIMTOOTH’S TRAPS NECROMANCER 1-58846-139-4 8386 $34.99

Arcana Evolved looks fantastic but at the price, it better be. I'll skip the Dragon's Return. Like I really need to see another earth shattering event in a fiction setting based on a game right?

The Second age of Walkers should be interesting but the one I'm looking forward to the most... Grimtooth's Traps...

APRIL 2005
WORLD OF WARCRAFT
THE ROLEPLAYING GAME WARCRAFT 1-58846-781-3 17210 $39.99
DARK TALES AND DISTURBING LEGENDS RAVENLOFT 1-58846-787-2 15032 $22.99
RUINS OF INTRIGUE MALHAVOC 1-58846-783-X 16148 $19.99
ISLANDS OF MIST EVERQUEST II 1-58846-968-9 16516 $34.99

Warcraft is another game I don't know if I've gotten full use out of it. Ravenloft and Everquest II... eh... Ruins of Intrigue, depending on how it's done, could be very interesting.

THE SECRET OF ZIR’ AN ZIR’ AN 0-9729052-0-0 PGG0001 $39.99
HAND OF FATE SCREEN & BOOK ZIR’ AN 0-9729052-1-9 PGG0002 $15.99

Didn't see any information on those books. anyone got the 411 on 'em?

THE BOOK OF ROGUISH LUCK MALHAVOC 1-58846-785-6 16112 $19.99
STEAM WARRIORS DRAGONMECH 1-58846-786-4 17604 $21.99

Looking forward to both of these. It looks like the Roguish Luck is going to buck the trend of previous Book of series as they've been anywhere from 32-64 pages with only the Nexus being a notable exception.

I was this close to buying the first edition of Warcraft last month. Then I found out that a second edition was on the way. I'm glad I waited. The setting certainly has appeal even though I've never played any of the video games. What little I know of the setting I've read on the Warcraft website. Some of the races are very cool and the preview they provide in the S&S catalog about Night Elves is just the thing to get me to buy the book.

I've been trying to limit my RPG purchases of late so I doubt I'll buy anything else on the list. I just don't have the place to put it all anymore.

I can't wait to learn what S&S is planning after Scarred Lands' cancelation. The entire catalog shows only their licensed or imprints products (except for, maybe, those Zir'An Books) ???

Actually considering how well done Legacies of the Blood was, I'm semi-more interested in Dark Tales.

Zi'ARN if I recall is its own system/world that S&SS is just helping out to distribute. I forget who the publisher is, but I do recall seeing something in thegamingreport.com about it...and I think the S&SS website has a mention in its past new article.

Arcana Evolved though has my 100% undivided interest, ESPECIALLY for epic/beyond 20th level play for AU/AE. The new class for AE, the cermony champion or whatever, seems REALLY cool. Especially since I enjoyed Mike's work on new Cermonies in Mystic Secrets.

Y.O.

As I stated earlier, Zi, is not a d20 system and therefore has 0 interest for me.

There one book that I'll pick up for sure and a couple I'll at least look at.

I know I'll pick up Arcana Evolved. I love AU, so more is better, IMO.

I'm not keen on the new Warcraft edition. I liked it being based directly off the SRD. I use a lot from that series in my games. I hope that will not make it a pain to convert back into core D&D (which I think they won't), but it does irk me a bit to have to buy into a new pseudo-system.

I feel the same way about EQ2. It kinda looks like they're going to focus on the EQ2 game and forget about EQ1 (which I think is the all around better setting). I'll thumb through this one and likely put it back. All I really get out of my EQRPG books is a couple races and the magic items from the GMG and Al'Kabor's Arcana. OH yeah, I use the monster books a lot also. My hope is they don't change the core system too much from EQRPG. (Looks like my hopes will be dashed there.) Also, I would like to see them still put out source material on the original setting. I would love a monster book covering the newer expansions, not to mention sourcebooks for said expansions also. It doesn't look like we'll get that, though. EQ2 doesn't interest me in the least. I didn't care for the MMORPG, so I don't think the setting is going to make me want to buy into the RPG.

Pass. If its not d20 related I'm not interested.

Probably why AU and more Malhavoc stuff will get looked by me.

Plus honestly I'd rather be PLAYING World of Warcraft online than wait around for players. At least these days. :p

But yeah, EQ2 and WoW RPG...not my thing either.
