Swordsage Variant

Anyone know exactly how this variant works or could direct me some where to help me out? The description on page 20 is vague and open to interpretation under "Adaptation".

I see it as you get to add your Wis to AC, stack unarmed damage like a monk, treat your unarmed as manufactured and natural, stunning fist a day, and gain AC/Movement/Slowfall/Flurry of Blows.

That right? Anything missing?

It's just a suggestion with a few pointers. You're basically going to have to decide the finer points by yourself, but the unarmed damage of the monk gets tacked onto the swordsage chassis. The movement bonus, stunning fist, and etc are iirc not added.

Like I read it and it says it applies to light armor but if you're the variant you would give up Light Armor proficiency so I would assume it would then apply to no armor. Since they're not identical they would stack.

IIRC, the Swordsage bonus was clarified in the FAQ to work with both light armor and when unarmored, and that it would not stack with the Monk's AC bonus.

I may be wrong.

IMHO, RAI is you take out the Swordsage armor and weapon proficiencies and put in the monk armor and weapon proficiencies and unarmed damage progression. Period. Otherwise, it is "broken" compared to straight swordsage.

That said, I would allow all those abilities you suggest, particularly in a party of Tier 1-3 characters.
