IMPROVE ROLL

OOC: Awha???? If I knew the roll was bad and had the HP I would reroll as per the rule above. Esp. because my whole plan was to get hit on purpouse.

Unfortunately in this PbP I don't get to know the roll was bad until you announce it.

So I respectfully object to that ruling unless you GM Fiat me.

OOC: Just to give you my perspective, I don't play this game FTF. So for me I was interpreting the rule as one where you know its an important roll, so you spend the HP to improve the roll ahead of time. Now I see where the player would roll bad and announce they want to improve the roll before it gets interpreted by the GM. Of course players can always use Invisible Castle. I'll have to look through my notes to see where Roughneck will come out. I have no problem with players disagreeing with my calls, that's why I post the rules that I'm interpreting. Look for another post tonight to update.
 

OOC: I understand your reasoning and will abide by that. I generally do announce spending HP on important rolls just to speed up gameplay as Bront can attest to. BUT I didnt have the option at that point due to thinking the HP was already spent.

When I have a crazy plan to purpously let my character get stepped on by a 200 foot tall robot knowing I had a HP is always handy trying to succeed.. ;)
 

OOC: Newest calculations put Roughneck at Bruised. What does he want to do now? Next round will have GM fire on the bugs firing on him. Pandora took her round to provide cover. Body is moving closer to the combat? Does that sound right to everyone.

OOC: What was the effect of getting stepped on? I take it his nigh-invulnerable body didnt get driven into the foot? If not Roughneck will try to grab onto the foot and look for a hatch.
 

Gun Monkey fires a 50 foot wide fire bomb on the group of bugs who attacked him. He looks on in shock as only two of the seven bugs is destroyed. Toad leaps forward and destroys another bot. Pandora, sensing trouble after her serpent was detroyed, erects a wall of cover from the bag. Body continues to run into the fray towards his teammates. Roughneck somehow manages to get up after the the foot lifts from him. Shaking the cobwebs from his head he moves back toward the foot and leaps on it again. Looking around he concludes the only hatch is most likely in the cockpit.

Roughneck looks around as the area fills with blasts from the small army of bugs behind the Tripod Walker. Three manage to hit him, but only one causes him any damage.

Gun Monkey is targeted by the bugs that he fired on. Four of the five miss the Simian Gunslinger, but one hits him, leaving him stunned. Body looks up to see the cannon of the walker training itself on Gun Monkey. A beam of focused energy bursts forth, hitting the unsuspecting Gun Monkey head on. Body watches helplessly as Gun Monkey falls to the ground, unconscious.

OOC: Sorry my original post didn't include the opposition's attack rolls. Gun Monkey made a bad save followed by a natural 20 from Dr. Null that made his second save very difficult.Roughneck also got hit with one critical, leading to his being Bruised.

Make sure to read my post again I had to update it because I forgot to show the bugs and walker's attacks

OOC: Do any of thier missed shots on Nick have any effect on the Bot? I may exploit that to bust in the hull.
