The characters have plot a course for the next town, or seek to traverse the wilds in search of a quest. The space between their starting spot and their destination is vast, so you think it best to throw in an intriguing event to segue the journey. But how?
For tabletop roleplaying games, random encounters are an essential tool to transition from one important scene to another. However, when it comes to actually implementing such encounters, the minimal single-sentence prompts some tables provide can leave Game Masters with more questions than answers.
Personally, I find myself spending more time trying to brainstorm how the encounter fits into the adventure at large, or coming up with ways that the party can benefit from the random scenario. It can feel like throwing in an encounter just for the sake of throwing in an encounter.
Therefore, to help run random scenarios, I've created a Compendium of 17 Comprehensive Encounters that can be dropped into any fantasy tabletop roleplaying game.

Each Encounter comes with its very own digital battlemap. These maps are available with both Day and Night variations and come in both Gridded and Gridless versions. All maps will be available at 300ppi and in JPG format.
For my own sessions, I try to include encounters that aren't solely combat-driven, but also give opportunities to roleplay social disputes, solve short mysteries, or even the occasional puzzle. These are the types of encounters I compiled into this collection.
