Tabaxi character

Some PC seeds:

Cheshire: a rogue who taunts his victims (of any kind) by leaving a “calling card”- wooden coins pyrographed with the stylized image of Tabaxi teeth smiling on a dark background.

Fog: a diminutive Tabaxi Monk.

Pyewacket: a mischievous warlock

Aslan: a priest or Paladin

Setzer: a wandering bard with an undeniable swagger.

Bootsy: a swashbuckler...and/or a bard with a taste for sparkly attire

Tabaxi STR Ranger for Waterdeep: Dragon Heist
Will go Monster Hunter at L3 (because her player wants to try out the sub-class before editing it into a Demonslayer)
Urchin background
Favored enemy: aberrations. Favored terrain: urban (I knew the name of the module and saw the beholder on the cover)

Streets of the City was born and raised near the only big city on Chult. Wave after wave of adventurers came from far away because of something called a Soulmonger (and disappeared into the jungle). She decided to go explore the big city they came from: Waterdeep. Her "day job" (proficient with Weaver's Tools) is making cloth items - hand towels, quilts, shirts, &c - with Chultan artistic designs in them. This modest trade in exotic art is intended to keep her in day-to-day spending money. She reasons that prices in Waterdeep ought to be better because there aren't any other Chultan artists there, so her work will be more rare hence more valuable.

So far, the most fun battle concept has been to 'cheetah sprint' to the far side of the enemy and make them decide who to fight: me by myself or my group. I can also generally catch up to anybody who tries to run away from me. Something I am going to try next session is to draw some enemy rear-guards into chasing me (instead of my friends) for a few blocks, then sprint off, turn a corner, break line-of-sight, and set up an ambush for when my pursuers arrive. I took Dueling combat style so I do extra damage with my yklaw.

For fun and flavor, when we found a stash of broken hand crossbows, I took them and went to the in-module merchant's shop who decorates everything in purple and gold. I asked him to make the weapons look functional but actually do not work, and decorate them gaudily. I now have a half-dozen "Mark of Zorro" gewgaws I can drop off to confuse the police and factions as to 'who is leaving these calling cards?'

“Ship”’s full name is, A Good Cook Is A Ship’s Luck. She is jet black, short furred, with sharp green eyes. She is also very short, at 4’11”.

She is a Swashbuckler Rogue/Fey Warlock (Chain). She fights with a rapier made from a dragon Turtle’s claw, and is accompanied by a flying fey cat (reflavored psuedodragon).

Her family have always been fisher cats, from a medium sized a coastal town. Her mother, Don’t Dive For Pearls Until You Have Enough Fish (called Pearl for short) is mother to 20 or so children, of widely varying ages. Ship’s litter-mates all saved their money to get their own fishing boat, because they were born on a ship in a surprise storm, and given names after well known ship wisdoms. Clearly, they were born for the sea.

Ship had an encounter with a spirit cat as a child, who later revealed himself to be the Cat Lord. Eventually she learned magic from him, and her twin brother, Follow The Crow’s Flight To Find Land (or Crow) became a Paladin of the Cat Lord.

Today, she travels as an adventurer, and sends money home to her siblings and mothers, as they save money to get a proper sailing vessel, and become proper merchant sailers.

edit: She is also an expert Cook, and specializes in spicey fish dishes, preferably with fresh raw fish, though she also does a mean open-flame-seared filet gyro with hot curry sauce, and a wild seafood chili.
