Taking names: A city for EN World

Port Entropia sounds cool. I mean i could see all sorts of sea based adventures and such. Problem is, we would have to make sure it doesnt debase into Freeport ...

Also, i agree with the ideas about contests to determine NPCs. maybe do the same for locations and such?

Hehe. Sorry about that. She's a talented cat, named "Mrs Eaves", incidentally, after my favourite typeface... (yes, indeed, as if her owner being a D&D type isn't sad and geeky enough!...) Her brother is called "Columbus". (That's another lovely font, incidentally...) :p

Port Entropia sounds cool. I was thinking it should be an interplanar nexus. The problem is that it might be too much like Sigil or that one city from the ELH.

How about this: the city exists in a relatively stable part of the plane of dreams. There is some overlap with the three transitive planes so it is possible to physically enter Port En. Most beings however visit while they are sleeping. Once you know about the city you simply think about it before you go to sleep and your mind is transported there instead of creating a normal dreamscape.

The city never looks the same as it is being constantly shaped by the minds which inhabit it. Through use of the Lucid Dreaming skill its possible to create anything. But unattended objects fade away and unused building slowly sink back into the sand.

Thats all I have for now.

IT DOESN'T NEED A NAME, LEAVE IT WITHOUT ONE SO THAT PEOPLE CAN NAME IT THEMSELVES IN THEIR OWN CAMPAIGNS WITHOUT HAVING TO CONTINUALLY IGNORE SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF-SHATTERING REFERENCES IN THE MATERIAL TO SOME HOKEY NAME WE THINK UP IN THIS THREAD.

That's my suggestion, name-wise. No doubt it will be ignored, though. :D

I really like the entrance-between-trees thing, but not the Realm of Dreams idea. It shouldn't be a super-uber place, just a kind of 'Place To Be' kind of place, I think.

Glad the 'Port' prefix is finding some acceptance. :)

That makes it too hard for me to write something up for the city ;).

The city of "IT DOESN'T NEED A NAME, LEAVE IT WITHOUT ONE SO THAT PEOPLE CAN NAME IT THEMSELVES IN THEIR OWN CAMPAIGNS WITHOUT HAVING TO CONTINUALLY IGNORE SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF-SHATTERING REFERENCES IN THE MATERIAL TO SOME HOKEY NAME WE THINK UP IN THIS THREAD" there exists a secret society ... etc.

:)

My Suggestion is "En 'Morvek".

and to flaunt the rules, my second suggestion Kenvimor.

I won't tempt fate and post a third suggestion... that'd be as foolish as typing "Hastur, Hastur, Hastur..."
