Taking suggestions for Dungeons of Doom

My work on Green Ronin’s Dungeons of Doom is underway and I want to know what you, the gamers, are looking for in a book with 90+ pages of dungeon maps. Be as vague (tombs, caves, prisons) or as specific (chasms with rope bridges, clockwork traps, fire giant’s living room) as you want but please try not to reference other products. I’m doing my best to keep from digging into my shelves of reference material.

I want a few complicated maps, secret doors galore, great detail. Can you possible try a three dimensional map? One that has interacting layers of a dungeon? I have no idea how hard that would be.

I'd like to see a mazr and a laberynth. And ice dwlling of frost giants is also cool. A good sized keep would be handy for many people I think.

How about a series of volcano tubes with lava still traveling through a few? That would look cool.

I'd like to see a harem setup. And a powerful NPC's personal vault, whether meant to hold coins, magic items or something else. And an underground grotto and retreat. And a silver dragon's mountain lair.

I like to see some planar maps - Astral, Ethereal, Inner planes, etc. That should give you LOTS to work with, Ed. Let me know if you need a planar "advisor" - I just happen to know one. ;)

All of the above, plus an elven tree village, underwater saghuin (I can never spell this!) lair, a monk order's abbey, noble's country estate, a progression of rooms which starts with a one-room store and can be added on to until you have a whole city block (or something like that).

And plenty more. ;)

Here are a few dungeon map ideas:

- A wizard’s laboratory that is divided into four sections, each section resides in a different elemental plane and are connected to each other via portals.

- A labyrinthine crypt beneath a large hill which has been converted to a base of operations for a band of brigands.

- The crumbling basement complex of an ancient castle which no longer stands.

- An urban evil temple which uses a luxury bathhouse as a front.

- An ancient dwarven hold which was abandoned after the mountain it was built into erupted, flooding sections of the complex in lava.

- A frost giant hall that was carved into an iceberg creating a floating ice palace.

- Illithid U. You would need wotc’s permission to use the name, but the idea is still good. A bizarre underground school / lab where the fine arts of dissecting humanoids and controlling slaves are learned, featuring auditoriums, libraries, labs, jail cells, and living quarters for the teachers and students.

Ed, man! You GOTTA add some mideval interiors to buildings! I would love to see a windmill! Great for making the players use their wits and tactics!

Um, how bout a belltower? Or even a golem repiar shoppe? :)

Keep the comments coming. Keep in mind that this will be all DUNGEON maps. If everything goes well, I'll talk Chris into a second volume titled Elven Tree Village of Doom.

Cheers - Ed
