Vanguard 12, warforged fighter/juggernaut.
Brad

This reminds me of a charcter concept I came up with when the Warforged appeared in Dragon.

"Defensive Turret model 5 unit 672" (DT for short) Psion(Kineticist)

A warforged sorcerer that acts as (among other things) as a cleric to warforged characters by casting Repair construct spells found in Tome and Blood.

With no spellbook to lose, and the ability to cast spells in higher slots, he really would not have to know but the level 1 version of the spell and cast it in higher slots, perhaps empowered, maximized, or twinned.

The Repair spells are included in Eberron as well. Plus, warforged can be repaired: 8 hours and a relevant Craft roll heals (check result-15) hp.

Firelance I think the warforged paladin idea is a really interesting one... Could have a lot of fun with that. What sort of special mount do you go for?
Well, my DM has mentioned having me transform into a wheelbarrow, but I'm sure he's just joking :heh:. The idea of a construct mount did occur to me, but it seems kind of cheesy.

Given the anti-prejudice theme of the character, I might consider one of the following possibilities:

1. A normal horse, on the principle of "I'm a normal paladin, just like everyone else".

2. A were-horse. He would be horrified at the Lycanthrope Purge, and as a member of the Church of the Silver Flame, he would feel guilty by association. Having a lycanthrope mount would be his way of making a quiet protest against and atonement for that policy.

The first would be easier and require less tweaking of the rules, though.

Warforged bard.

I'm thinking of a warforged created late in the war as a gift to an important
noble or royal house--something meant to be more of a wondrous toy/art
object rather than a warrior. Its internal mechanisms are more delicate than
average, but it was still given the mithril finish to look pretty and above all,
expensive.

High Dex, Int, Cha--other stats average. Lots of social skills and languages
as well as Perform, of course, but no combat optimization. Starts adventuring
after the heir that it was given to was assassinated, and it thought it might
be blamed.

Not optimal for an adventuring party, but it would have a decent AC and could
pick up new skills quickly as needed.

Well, the first thought I had for a character was a Warforged Druid. An artifical person made by man in defense of the wild just has such appeal. I'd have to wonder though if being partly metal would violate the druidic oath.

I settled on a Warforged Soulknife for my first character though. Built by the Cannith near the end of the war, it was designed to be an artificial focus of ambient psionic energy, drawing it into it's body and focusing it into destructive power as a 'living' weapon. Very anime inspired here. In addition to the regular materials makign up it's body, a fair amount of crystal went into it's construction as well, acting as a psionic power conduit. However, the war ended and the treaty was signed before it could be delivered to a client, so it was freed with no concept of what 'freedom' might be, or what it should do, except that it knows it was made as a weapon.
