Naw, as I said, they got here just a couple months ago, and they've hardly left the commander's side since.

Respectfully sir, I think you may be readin' too much into things. I mean, Wally, you know what it's like when new ossifers show up? Don't they like to throw their weight around a bit, make sure we all know who's boss?

I'll try not to take that too personal Mr. Brentson.

I didn't mean nothin' personal by it Wally. I know you were working for a living long before I was born, longer than any of us was born, 'cept maybe Ahlana there.

It is true new lieutenants like to make their presence felt early in their tenure, and maybe in another couple months they and the commander will have mellowed out and we'll forget about this. All the same, we can't afford to let our guard down given our position. We'd do well to keep our eyes open.

Sound advice at any time Wally.

As an archer, I can't afford not to keep my eyes open.

Yes, and that would serve you well as a knight Mr. Davies. I know we've broached the subject before, but if you tell me I'll stop pressing you about it.

Pressure me? You keep hittin' me up for the application fee and you know well I don't have 50 platinum to spare.

I've said no such thing, and I could lose my title if I ever did.

You callin' me a liar?

At ease, Mr. Davies! Steen interjects. He takes a deep breath and thinks. Maybe there's something more to this than we thought.

Kinan

"How close to the activity do we patrol? And has the commander sent out scouting parties to find out what they are doing?"

Myst Silverstorm

"Gentlemen lets remain within good order and disaplin here. Unless something has drastically changed in the past few months, I can assure you that there is no such thing as an Apllication Fee for the Order. You simply have to be sponsored." Says Myst with an obvious perplex look on her face. "Lets try not to point fingers here however Davis, we need to know when did you here such a thing? For I hate to have to pay fee to continue my family's tradition."

I 'eard straight from Wally's mouth, last Winged Trade, about, eh 1200 I think.

I can attest to it. I was with Mr. Davies at the time, talking to Wally. We were just by the west gate entrance. The half-elven knight Alregaard speaks.

Wally, I have to ask ye, where were ye last Winged Trade on 1200?

In the recruiting office, I was there until the 5 o'clock bell.

Anyone see you at about 1200?

Yes, yes! Sergeant Mandel, we were speaking for a good length of time. She had snagged a part of her tunic on a nail and I sewed it back on.

Wally I would never question your honor, especially here in front of Luke and the new arrivals. But for the sake of my men, I need you to verify your account.

Yes, and you have every right to insist Mr. Steen. Myst, you've acquited yourself favorably in me eyes. Would you help an old man get around this time of night? I believe Ms. Mandel would be at the stables about this time.

Myst Silverstorm

Yes Sir.” Replies the young warrior. Rising from her chair, she heartily slaps the dwarf on the back and says jokingly, “Don’t be drink’n all that ale now. I expect that keg to still be half full when I get back.” Gathering her gear she follows the Senior Officer out of the tavern.

After Myst and Wally leave Ulricsohn finds his way in.

Mr. Ulricsohn, you seem distraught.

Oh bad news mates, I just got wind Sergeant Bruno's doin' uni inspection every day this week.

Bollocks!

Blast it!

Drat!

Confound it!

These and similar curses go up from other guardsmen who may be within earshot. Ulricsohn explains to you. Sergeant Bruno's the toughest uni inspector this side of Sancrist mates. There ain't a guard on this base who ain't got gigged for improper dress from him ya?

Kinan

"How many gigs is it for not being in a proper uniform? Abyss, I'd rather be out on patrol eating hard tack than getting guff about how finely the tailor was able to work on a rush job." Kinan considers then suggests. "If the commander's going to assign us to patrol anyway I think we might as well volunteer for the duty."

Yeblin who had dissapear for some time in teh kitchen finally come back. "Uniforms... that one thing I don't understand. Uniforms are so boring. Why do I need to wear one? Anyway, they are not made for a cook. They shouldn't ask me to wear one. But I'll have a suprise for you... I am preparing a nice dessert. You'll see, you'll like it. It need just ten or twenty minutes to heat enough before I can serve it."

Kell nods as he sips his ale.

"I agree. I feel like we should volunteer for duty. See if we can make some progress and see how the higher-ups treat us."
